Mark Alan Ewoldt was born on July 17, 1962, in Waterloo, the son of Sherman and Faye Lou (Wells) Ewoldt. Mark grew up in Dysart and graduated from Dysart-Geneseo High School. He farmed with his family and drove truck. On July 28, 1989, Mark was united in marriage to Wendy Heineman in Keystone. Mark and Wendy always had fun together, no matter what they were doing.

Mark was a member of the Turner Hall in Keystone. He enjoyed working in his shop, farming, and spending time with his family, especially his beautiful granddaughters. He was also very proud of his two children and their spouses.

Mark died suddenly of cancer, at the age of 54, on Monday, February 20, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sherman and a brother, Terry.

Mark is survived by his wife, Wendy of Dysart; his mother, Faye Lou of Traer; a daughter, Aly (Lance) Goken of Traer; a son, Reece (Brooke) Ewoldt of Dysart; a brother, Tim (Holly) Ewoldt of Traer; two granddaughters, Hudsyn Faye and Haelyn Sue; his mother and father-in-law, John and Charmaine Heineman of Garrison; a brother-in-law, Dan (Connie) Heineman of Garrison; and many nieces and nephews.

Burial will take place in Buckingham Cemetery in Traer. Please direct memorials to Mark’s family.
