Austin Williard Fray, 81, of Waterloo, Iowa, andformerly of Gilbertville, died at Country View Care Center, on Thursday, July 14, 2016 of cancer.
He was born on February 18, 1935, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and he was raised by his grandparents Ira and Clara Fray.
Austin particularly enjoyed restoring and showing Oldsmobiles. He also loved his Harleys.
Austin married Patricia Meider September 21, 1954 in Chippewa Falls, Wis., and they later divorced in 1974. He then married Marlene Ann Rue on February 10, 1975 in Galena, Ill. She preceded him in death Jan. 5, 2000. Austin later married Barbara Ross in 2005, and she preceded him in death in 2012.
He was employed for John Deere Company for 30 years before retiring in 1988.
Austin is survived by a son, Mark (Cheri) Fray of California; three daughters: Susan (Richard) Graham of La Porte City, Linda (Dennis) Bresson of Waterloo, and Kim Even of Iowa; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; and a brother, George Fray.
