Biography--

Clyde G. Welch, 80, died Monday, August 1, 2016 at ManorCare Health Services in Waterloo.

He was born October 18, 1935 in Waterloo, son of Clyde P. and Frieda Buenneke Welch.

He graduated from Waterloo East High School and served in the United States Navy--USNR. Clyde was a 50 year Gold Card member of BAC International Union, working as a Bricklayer.

He attended Grace Fellowship Church and was a member of Martin Lodge #624 A.F. & A.M., and El Kahir Shrine. He was united in marriage to Donna L. Harrenstein on June 8, 1957 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterloo.

Clyde enjoyed exercising and friendly camaraderie with old and new friends at the YMCA. Also his two Chihuahuas brought a lot of joy into his life.

Clyde is survived by his wife, Donna, of Waterloo; two sons, Todd (Irene) and David Welch, both of Waterloo; five grandchildren: Hollie (Tyler) Smith, Scott, Michelle, Melissa and Andrea Welch; and by two great-grandchildren, Carlie and Parker Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Eugene Welch; and a sister, Marie Michael.
