Biography--

Jack R. Schons, age 63, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Sunday, August 7, 2016, at his home, of lung cancer.

He was born May 27, 1953 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Francis J. and Patricia (Miner) Schons. Jack graduated from Cedar Falls High School with the Class of 1972. He married Rose Janssen in November 1971, and they were later divorced. Jack married Deborah Meiser in 1979, and they were later divorced. He married Diedra “DeDe” Janssen on July 6, 2005, in Waterloo.

Jack was an assembler for John Deere & Co. for 43 years, retiring in 2015. He was a member of Calvary Christian Center and UAW Local 838.

Survivors include his wife, Diedra “DeDe” of Waterloo; two sons, Jason (Sheila) Schons of La Porte City and Nicholas Schons of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Jill (Dennis) Cooley of Pennsylvania, and a brother, Richard (Sue) Wells of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a son, Brandon Schons.
