Biography--

Darryl L. Maser, 51, of La Porte City, Iowa, died Thursday, September 1, 2016, at Strawberry Point Lutheran Home from early onset dementia.

He was born June 13, 1965 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of LeRoy and Alene (Beal) Maser. He was a 1983 graduate of La Porte City High School. He married Doreen Luck they were later divorced. He was united in marriage to Lanell Allen on August 24, 2013 in La Porte City.

Darryl worked as a HVAC Installer for Colony Heating and Air Conditioning in Cedar Rapids for 18 years.

He is survived by his wife, Lanell Maser of La Porte City; two sons, Zach of North Carolina, Dillan of Ohio; three step daughters: Cassi Sturtz of Oregon, Alex Sturtz of South Korea and Mikayla Allen of La Porte City; two sisters, Joleen Maser and Lois Spillman both of Waterloo; one brother, Wayne Maser of Vinton; two half-sisters, Shirley (Roy) Wyatt, Barbara (Duane) Kimpton; two half-brothers, LeRoy Maser, Jr. and Eugene Maser all of Wisconsin; one sister-in-law, Marge Maser of Charles City; by special nephew and nieces: Dustin (Regina) Maser of Vinton, Gwen (Jeff) Zea of La Porte City, Dawn Pizaro and Lisa (James) Rowe both of Minnesota; and by many other nephews and nieces.

Darryl was a loving father and husband. He loved to be on the river and beating everyone at any game. He was a kind, caring and patient man who enjoyed spending time with family and his dogs.
