Biography--

Betty Jean Wisby-Hill, 95, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Friday, September 30, 2016, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born March 1, 1921, in Waterloo, daughter of Samuel S. Scott and Maude Hoxie Scott. She married Harry A. Wisby on July 8, 1939 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on April 6, 1972. She married Russell Hill of Cedar Falls on October 12, 2002; he also preceded her in death.

Betty graduated from West High School, Waterloo. Years later she earned an Associate of Arts degree from Hawkeye Community College. In her younger years she was a professional ballet and tap dancer, and taught both. After graduating from Hawkeye she worked as a photographer for 12 years for McKenna Photography and Lohnes Photography.

Survivors: a son, Gary Wisby (Pat Tremmell) of Evanston, IL; two daughters, Barbara Harms (Brian Lewis) of Waterloo and Sharon (Tomas) Joseph of Scottsdale, AZ; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Wisby of Nashville, TN; five grandchildren: Jennifer Geist (Mike Durand), Joey (Renee) Wisby, Sarah Wisby, Julie Wisby, and Jake (Katy) Wisby; and five great-grandchildren: Marley Wisby, Ericka Wisby, Henry Phillips, Jasper Phillips, and Amalie Phillips.

She was preceded in death by three brothers: Everett Scott, Winston Scott, and Charles Scott; and by two children, Gregory Wisby, and James Wisby.
