Friday, October 7, 2016 at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel; and also for one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Biography--

Shirley M. Buck, 77, of Waterloo, Iowa, died on Monday, October 3, 2016, surrounded by her family.

She was born December 18, 1938, in Black Hawk County, Iowa. The daughter of Henry and Elsie (Kroblin) Pries. Shirley graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1957.

Faith, Family, and Friends were very important to Shirley and this was evident in her everyday life. She was a very proud and active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School, she was involved in the Women’s Guild, in charge of the Roast Beef dinner for 38 years, and served on several committees. She worked for the Waterloo Community Schools in Food Service and then as a Custodian at East High School until her retirement.

Survivors include a son, Steve (Diane) Buck of Waterloo; daughter, Barbara (Mark) Scheel of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren: Alex (Meghan Olausen) Buck of Minneapolis, Minn., Amanda (Blake King) Scheel of Hudson, Reece (Emily Even) Buck of Evansdale, Cale Buck of Kentucky, and Andrew Scheel of Cedar Falls; one great-grandson, Brayden King; eight siblings: Bernice Hansen, Geraldine “Geri” (Alta Jones) Pries, Fern (Sid) Miner, Robert “Buzz” (Betty) Pries, Dorothy Obidinski, Elizabeth “Liz” Fleming, Gloria Kruger, and Ronald (Shirley) Pries; sister-in-law, Lavonne Pries; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Terry Buck; six siblings: Willie, Eunice, LaVern (Maxine), Marlys (Sherman), Keith, and Joseph; and brothers-in-law: Howard Hansen, John Obidinski and Roland Kruger.
