Biography--

Helen "Boots" Walker, age 95, of NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls, died on January 12, 2017 at Pinnacle Specialty Care Center.

She was born on March 6, 1921 in Cresco; the daughter John and Rose (Wurth) Gerber. She married Marion R. Walker on June 4, 1948 in Waterloo; he preceded her in death on November 4, 1993.

Helen graduated from Cresco High School. She worked for Corrugated Box Factory for 30 years. Helen was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church and Order of the Eastern Star.

Helen enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, sewing and traveling, she was known for making polyester rugs and jewelry trees.

Survivors include two sons, Dick (Carol) Reiser of Gilbertville, and James (Sandy) Reiser of Washburn; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, Marion; two grandsons, Tony Reiser and Kevin Reiser; a great-granddaughter, Ashley Reiser; and five sisters: Rosie, Aggie, Louise, Emma, and Gertie.
