Biography--

Michael “Mike” Eugene Linsey, 43, of Elk Run Heights, Iowa, and formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, died at UnityPoint Health ‑ Allen Hospital on Thursday, January 12, 2017, of natural causes.

Mike was born on October 20, 1973 in Waterloo, son of Jerry Jay and Linda Sue (Lawrence) Linsey.

He graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1992.

Mike married Robyn Stoner in September 2010; they were later divorced.

He worked as a chef for Sunnyside Country Club. Mike was also a musician, playing with various bands, including the Dennis Wayne Gang and NineDollarMelonBaller. He also owned and operated Big Mike’s Beddar Dogs.

Mike is survived by his mother, Linda (Patrick) Danielsen of Waterloo; a sister, Lisa (Danny) Geary of Waterloo; a niece, Katelyn Terrones (Aaron) Depew of Waterloo; three nephews: Andrew "Drew" Terrones of Waterloo, Tyler Geary of Waterloo, and Danny Geary of Bremmerton, WA; and a great-nephew, Jeremy Depew.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Linsey.
