Jodi Lynn Hanson, 58, of Evansdale, Iowa, died Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at her home.

She was born June 6, 1958, in Independence, Iowa, the daughter of Delbert and Mary Ann (Shepard) Straw. She married Dwight Hanson and they later divorced.

Jodi graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1977 and worked as a Dietary Supervisor with Western Home Communities, Cedar Falls Health Care Center, Bridges and North Crest.

She is survived by two daughters, Samantha (Tracy) Evans and Gloria (Bernal) Homann, both of Waterloo, Iowa; a son, Chad Hanson of Cedar Falls, Iowa; four grandchildren: Brooke and Kyle Astleford, Zander Franklin and Zach Homann; a great-grandchild, Bella Astleford; her mother, Mary Ann Straw of Rogers, Arkansas; a brother, Harry (Becci) Straw of Rogers, Arkansas; a sister,
Helen (Jerry) Howard of Florissant, Missouri; her long-time companion, Merlin Taylor; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; a son; a granddaughter, Brittany; her grandparents; a brother, Delbert Straw; and by her step father, Roy Mobley.

Family directed memorial services are Sunday at the UAW Hall in Waterloo (2615 Washington), with visitation until service time.
