CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Mary L. Bisbey, 86, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Friday, September 2, 2016, at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook.

She was born September 10, 1929 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Warden and Gladys (Dickson) Laufer. On October 31, 1948, Mary was united in marriage to Gerald E. Bisbey in Gladbrook. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2016.

Mary graduated from Gladbrook High School in 1947 and from Pitze’s School of Beauty in 1948. In addition to being a cherished Mother and Grandma, her friends were very dear to her, particularly those on North Ellen Street and Lake Hattie.

Mary is survived by two daughters, Connie (Mike Pierce) Bisbey of Backus, Minnesota, and Amy (Ted) Spratt of Waterloo; two sons, Rick (Sharon) Bisbey of Waterloo and Jack (Sue) Bisbey of Minnesota; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a brother, Joel Laufer of Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Karl Laufer.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, followed by a reception.
