Jean Noble Huffman

July 30, 1918 - December 18, 2016

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Jean Noble Huffman, 98, of Dayton, Ohio, and formerly of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, December 18, 2016, in Dayton.

She was born July 30, 1918, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of William Edward and Florence (Stewart) Noble. She married Robert C. Huffman and he preceded her in death.

She earned her BS degree from the University of Michigan. She and her husband represented the government and people of the United States on diplomatic postings to Singapore, Frankfort, Bonn, Washington D.C., Nigeria, Zurich, Bern, Vancouver and Dusseldorf. Later, she served as a Stephen Minster at the La Jolla Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by a cousin, Miriam McDonald and her family.

She was preceded in death by a brother, William Stewart Noble; an aunt, Erma Stewart; an uncle, Clarence Stewart; and a cousin, Donald Stewart.

Burial will be Thursday in Greenwood Cemetery in Cedar Falls.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.

Mrs. Huffman was a member of AAUW and DACOR. She was an avid artist and exhibited her many paintings in La Jolla and foreign posts.
