Doris L. Otto (1927-2017)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Doris L. Otto, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, February 2, 2017, at her son’s home in Waterloo.

She was born October 27, 1927, in Marshalltown, daughter of Charles and Jessie (Shaver) Tuggle. She married Ralph E. Otto on June 8, 1947 in Cedar Falls. He died January 27, 2007.

She was a sales clerk at Black’s Department Store and then for 22 years at Carson Pirie Scott, retiring in 1988.

Survived by: two daughters, Cindy (Bob) Waschek of Kendall, WI, and Carol (Bob) Chumley of Blue Springs, MO; a son, Doug (Lori) Otto of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a son, David Otto; and a sister, Dorothy Bruns.

Graveside Services will be held at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Her body has been deeded to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.
