Obituary for Jimmy Allen Tice

Cedar Falls, Iowa – Jimmy A. Tice, 80, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, February 24, 2017 at his home in Windcove of Western Home Communities.

He was born March 20, 1936 in Clear Lake, Iowa, the son of Gayle and Virginia (Peterson) Tice. He graduated from Garner High School. He served in US Army from 1955 to 1958. On April 13, 1957, he married Helen Billings in Mason City. Jimmy worked as a machinist at John Deere for 30 years, retiring in 1995.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Vicki (Roger) Neessen, and Penny Tice; a sister, Marcia Janssen of St. Joseph, Missouri; and a brother, Richard (Joan) Tice of San Antonio, Texas; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by a sister, Connie Goske.

Memorial services will be 10:30am Thursday, March 2, in the Dining Room at Windcove, of Western Home Communites. A visitation will be from 4-6pm Wednesday, March 1, at Richardson Funeral Service, and also an hour prior to the service on Thursday. Inurnment will be at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens.
