A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Locke Funeral Home followed by military honors and lunch following at the Eagles Club in Waterloo.

Visitation:
There will be no visitation

Cemetery:
Inurnment will be at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, Waterloo, Iowa

Memorials:

Biography--

Glenn E. "Ike" Eickelberg Jr., 81, of Shell Rock, Iowa, died Friday, March 31, 2017 at Rosewood Estates, Waterloo, Iowa.

He was born June 28, 1935, son of Glenn E. Sr. and Madge Williamson Eickelberg. He graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1953 and attended Iowa State University.

He married Sandra Thieman in 1957 and they later divorced. He married Cecilia Soteros Bass in 1964.

Glenn served in the United States Army (1958-1960). He was named outstanding trainee at Fort Carson Army Base in Colorado Springs, CO, and stationed at Fort Myer Army Base in Arlington, VA, in the U.S. Army Honor Guard which included guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

He was employed as a Supervisor for Deere & Co at the Waterloo plant for 33 years.

He was a life member of The Old Guard, life member of the National Rifle Association, a Mason and a member of the Cedar Falls Gun Club.

Glenn loved life--hunting, fishing, boating, skiing, flying, skydiving, scuba diving, golf and travel. He enjoyed it all.

He is survived by his wife, Cecilia, sons Rick (Kim) and Jeff (Becky Rumsey), all of Waterloo; brother Dean of Decorah; step children: Dennis Bass of Texas, Perry Bass of Colorado, and Marie (Bill) Tillman of Oelwein; many grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and a wide circle of friends.

Glenn was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Diana Eickelberg.
