Biography--

Harold Robert Foulk, 88, of La Porte City, died in Tucson, AZ, on Sunday, June 19, 2016.

Bob was born June 27, 1927, on the family farm north of La Porte City, son of Harold and Dollie Wallace Foulk. He married Virginia Ruth "Ginny" Dickinson February 8, 1949 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Virginia died December 25, 2004.

Bob graduated from Orange High School in 1945. Bob's passion was farming: working in the fields, raising livestock, and tending the garden with his parents and wife for many years. He also worked at John Deere, Rath Packing, Trojan Seed, sold real estate and Funk's seed corn, golf courses in Dysart and Waterloo, Blaine's, Audrey's Flowers, American Eagle Airlines at the Waterloo airport, and NEIA Agency on Aging. He was active in Black Hawk County 4H, served as a Cedar Township Trustee, and collected farmer grain contributions for the CROP program. Family and friend time was precious whether it was working together, discussing the day around a dinner table, or entertaining everyone with his elaborate story telling. Bob retired from farming in 1993 and enjoyed spending time in Iowa, Arizona, and working as a ranch hand cowboy in Huápoca, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Survivors include his two sons, Greg Foulk of Vinton, IA and Jeff (Debbie) Foulk of Waterloo; a daughter, Amy (Philip) Roberts of Tucson, AZ; and four grandchildren, Scott (Laura) Foulk of Burnsville, MN, Sara (DJ) Loerzel of Aurora, CO, and Daniel and Elizabeth Roberts of Tucson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and sister and brother-in law, Edith and Clem Reiter, Jr.
