OBITUARY--

Loving Father and Grandfather

Dick Hansen, 76, died Monday, June 20, at Covenant Medical Center with his family by his side.

Dick was born in Fort Dodge, IA on May 7, 1940 to parents Edmund and June Tesdahl Hansen.

With a strong business sense and passion for banking, Dick began his financial career in 1971 at People's Bank & Trust. In 1982 Dick became one of the founding fathers of First Security State Bank in Evansdale, IA. Throughout his 23 year career with FSSB, Dick enjoyed growing from President, CEO, and Chairman of the company. His strong work ethic and tire kicking habits are how those at the bank will remember him best.

Dick was involved in many organizations such as the Waterloo Elks Club, Sunnyside Country Club, the Waterloo Lion's Club, and United Methodist Church. Dick also enjoyed spending time with his family through weekly lunches, spontaneous fishing trips, and thrilling casino blackjack. These lasting memories are how his family will remember him best.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, long time companion Karen Chapman, and brother Edmund C. Hansen Jr.

Dick is survived by his children Dennis (Jacqui) Hansen and Diane Johnson; five grandchildren; Aaron, Corey, Katie, Samantha, and Zachary; brother Gordon (Carolyn) Hansen and sister‑in‑law Sharon Hansen and many many friends.
