Monday at Locke Funeral Home with a 6:30 pm Order of the Eastern Star Service and Masonic Service.

Cemetery:
Waterloo Cemetery with military rites by the Evansdale AMVETS Post #31 and Waterloo AMVETS Post #19 and the Iowa Army National Guard Honor Guard

Biography--

Edward Evans Huxham, 90, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at Ravenwood Specialty Care on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 of natural causes.

He was born February 10, 1926 in Oak Park, Illinois, son of LeRoy and Millie Evans Huxham. He married Mary E. Hamilton on December 17, 1950 in Waukegan, Illinois; she died March 30, 2016. Ed graduated from Waukegan High School in 1944 and from the Hawkeye Technical Agricultural program.

He had been a skilled carpenter for most of his life. He worked for Moeller and Walter Lumber Yard in Reinbeck, Iowa. Later he worked for Hawkeye Steel in St. Louis as the Warehouse Manager and then transferred to Waterloo as Sales Manager and retired after 21 years when the company closed in 1981. Then he managed Prairie Park until retirement.

Ed served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II, receiving an honorable discharge with the rank Corporal. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Order of Eastern Star #128, Masonic Lodge #105, American Legion, and the Waterloo VFW.

He is survived by his son, Donald Huxham of Marshalltown, Iowa; daughter, Annette (Brad Jackson) Huxham of Alden, Iowa; five grandchildren: Krista Welsch, Robin Snider, David Lynn, Lindsey Huxham, and Lacey Huxham; six great‑grandchildren; three sisters: Eleanor Wagel of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Dawn Majors of Paradise, California, and Helen Hansen of Gurnee, Illinois.

Ed was preceded in death by his wife.
