Biography--

Margaret Jennings, 92, of Waterloo, died Friday, September 30, 2016 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home from congestive heart failure. Margaret was born November 15, 1923 in Waterloo the daughter of Otto R. and Ann Gallagher Anderson. She graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School in 1942.

Margaret married Albert “Barney” Jennings Dec. 9, 1943 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waterloo. He died April 12, 2006. She was an insurance agent with Elliott Hartman Insurance Co. for 35 years, from 1943-1948 and returned in 1958 until retiring in 1988.She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, past president of Rosary Society, and past officer of Insurance Women of Black Hawk County.

Margaret was very faithful. She enjoyed having her family around and was very proud of her children and their families. She liked to make deserts. Margaret enjoyed vacations, especially her trip to Ireland and family vacations. She enjoyed reading novels, working crossword puzzles, and emailing her friends and family.

Margaret is survived by a son, Thomas J. (Nancy) Jennings of Waterloo; two daughters, Barbara Jean (Joseph) Kruth of Cedar Rapids and Kathryn Ann (Wayne) Bullis of West Des Moines. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Tricia Ann (Daron) Jordan, Lisa Kae Brickman, Melissa Margaret (Tyler) McCarville, Michael Albert Jennings, Matthew James Jennings, and Meghann Mary (Nick) Effenheim; by three great-grandchildren: Dallas Robert Brickman, Madison Mae McCarville, and Addison Leigh Effenheim.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother Donald R. Anderson.
