Biography--

Linda Assink, 71, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born April 15, 1945, in Waterloo, daughter of Wayne and Dorothy Fay Sturtz. She married Charles Lawrence "Chuck" Assink on June 12, 1965, in Orange Township.

Linda graduated from Orange High School in 1963. She obtained her X-ray certification from Schoitz Medical Center in 1963 and had worked as an X-ray technician, a nurse's assistant, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls and the Red Hat Ladies of Lakeland, Fla.

Survived by: her husband; a daughter, Karen Martin of Toms River, N.J.; a son, Mark (Tina) of Egg Harbor City, N.J.; four grandchildren, Kyle Seiverd, Faith Assink, Alyssa Assink and Justin Assink; a great grandson, Bryce Baumgartner; and two brothers in law, Gerald Assink of Lakeland and Robert Assink of Cedar Rapids.

Preceded in death by: a son, Michael Charles; and a brother, John Sturtz.
