Biography--

C. Wayne Crow, 85, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at: UnityPoint Health—Allen Hospital on Tuesday, November 29, 2016.

He was born March 23, 1931, in Waterloo, son of William Sr. and Phyllis Berkshire Crow and graduated in 1949 from Waterloo East High School.

He married Colleen A. Power on April 20, 1952 in Waterloo. Wayne served in the United States Army with the 528th Trans Co from 1955-1957 receiving an honorable discharge. Wayne was a member of Waterloo AMVETS Post #19. He was a Journeyman Plumber and business agent for the Plumbers Local 384 with various contractors for 50 years, retiring in 1993.

He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and had been active with Men’s Club and was a past Board Trustee. Wayne and Colleen volunteered for Meals on Wheels and community meals at Kimball Ave. United Methodist Church.

Wayne enjoyed fishing and spending time at their place in Harpers Ferry and being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen; daughter, Barbara Ryan of Evansdale, Iowa; daughter‑in‑law, Sandy Crow of Waterloo; granddaughter, Jana Qualls; grandson, Ian (Jennifer) Jungling; and five great-grandchildren: Imonee, Alex, and Ariana Qualls and Desiray and Skyler Jungling. Wayne is also survived by three sisters: Margaret A. Bettis of Waterloo, Ruth Carnes of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Hazel (Jerry) Carnes of Waterloo.

He is preceded in death by his son David; brother, William Jr.; and two sisters, Norma Gerholt and Ella Mae Timion.
