Helen L. Ticknor, 82 of Waterloo, died at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home on Friday, January 13, 2017 of natural causes.
She was born on December 17, 1934 in Iowa City, daughter of Glen and Geraldine Minkel Beebe and graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1953.
Helen married Donald L. Ticknor on October 22, 1955, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Evansdale.
She was a secretary in the Waterloo School District and then worked for Area Education Agency (AEA) 267. She retired in 1996. Helen was a member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband; her children: Larry (Paula) Ticknor of Janesville, Dawn (Steve) Lowe of Waterloo, Tina Ticknor of Waterloo, and son in law, Scott Buck of Waterloo; six grandchildren: Neal (Breanne) Ticknor, Aaron (Bernice) Ticknor, Adam (Leah Youngblut) Ticknor, Donald J. Ticknor, David Ticknor, and Sarah (Wade) Chihak; five great grandchildren: Parker Ticknor, Kloey Little, Kaelyn, Brilee and Alivia Raney; sister, Shirley (Ed) Wood of Reinbeck; and brother, George "Bud" (Julie) Beebe of Springfield, Missouri.
Helen is preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Buck.
