Harold D. Tippetts, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, January 23, 2017 at Sartori Memorial Hospital.
He was born January 31, 1925 in Stone, Idaho, son of William and Georgina Natress Tippetts. Harold served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked many jobs like sales and construction. He also worked at the Kennecott Copper Mine near Salt Lake City, Utah, where he was a locomotive engineer and later was a post cutter.
Harold put God before anything and loved his family. He liked being called “Cowboy,” especially in his later years. He greatly appreciated the Idaho and Utah area in which he grew up and lived as a young man. He was a private pilot. Harold traveled a great deal, particularly in Central America where he spent time living in Belize and Nicaragua. He also loved living in Mexico and called it his home.
He is survived by the mothers of his children, Martha Cordova, Heidi, and Nannette Hanson; his many children, grandchildren, great- and great-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mae LaRue Wahler of Logan, Utah.
Harold was preceded in death by the mothers of his children: Betty Brown and Elvia Marin; five brothers: Kenneth Tippetts, Red Tippetts, Farrell Tippetts, Larry Cottom and Dewayne Cottom; and a sister, Delene Tippetts.
