Obituary for Shirley E. Bravender

Shirley E. Bravender, 93 of Waterloo, died Saturday, March 11 at her home.

She was born July 6, 1923 in West Concord, Minn. daughter of Walter E. and Effie L. Mosher Eayrs. She married Harold P. Bravender Feb. 10, 1968 in Evansdale. He died March 17, 2008.

Shirley worked for Rath Packing Company for 32 years, retiring in 1979.

She is survived by:three sons: Robert C. Weed of Britt, Iowa, Dan E. (Karen) Bravender of Nampa, Idaho, and Craig H. (Valerie) Bravender of Waterloo; two daughters, Candice B. (Jim) Hundley and Renee B. (Tom) Lloyd both of Waverly; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joanie Kriz; a grandson, Michael Kriz; three sisters, Barbara Mae Burns, Dorothy Abbie Sveney, Charlotte Marie Wesely; four brothers, Clement Franklin Eayrs, Marvin Walter Eayrs, Lou Ralph Eayrs, and Stanley William Eayrs.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 16 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.

Public visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral home on West Ridgway, continuing for one hour before services Thursday.
