Biography--

James Carl Sherwood Sr., 86, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, May 8, 2016 at NewAldaya Lifescapes.

He was born February 23, 1930 in Waterloo the son of Carl and Alice (Jacobsen) Sherwood. He married Shirley Whitlatch on July 1, 1951 in Waterloo; she preceded him in death on May 7, 2016.

James worked as a Supervisor at Waterloo Industries. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by two sons, James (Deb) Sherwood, Jr. of Cedar Falls, Joe Sherwood of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Jamie (Jim) Campion of Lakeville, MN, Julie (Kent) Patterson of Evansdale; twelve grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four brothers: Bill (Darlene) Sherwood of La Porte City, Gary (Joann), Tim (Linda) and Steve Sherwood all of Waterloo and two sisters, Sally Hermanson of Waterloo and Vickie Sherwood of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Robert and Vince Sherwood and one sister, Mary Jabee.
