Ruth Elizabeth (Juice) Thompson, 84, of Grimes, formerly a long time resident of Cedar Falls, died Good Friday, March 25, 2016, in her home wrapped in the love of her family. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church, Greene, Iowa, with Pastor Cathy Belles officiating. Inurnment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Greene.

Ruth was born on October 19, 1931, to William and Lizzie Matilda McRoberts in Greene, Iowa. She married Max Thompson, of Charles City, on September 2, 1951. Ten days later, they were separated for two years as Max served in the Korean Conflict.

Ruth was a homemaker for many years, but later in life worked at Price Lab Schools in Cedar Falls, a job of which she was very proud.

Ruth enjoyed knitting, and her faith, family and friends were her life.

Ruth is survived by her three children: Greg (Jeanne) Thompson, Urbandale, Leanne (Randy), Burrack of Grimes and Patti (John) Carter, of Grimes. She is also survived by seven granddaughters: Emily (Terry) Reiners of Grimes, Abby (Matt) Snoberger of Grimes, Michelle (Brad) Bridgewater of Iowa Falls, Molly Charley of Houston, Texas, Kathleen (Charley) Rush of Winterset, Lisa (Ryan) Dupuy of Waterloo, and Betsy Carter of Grimes and one grandson, Adam Thompson of Des Moines. Ruth was the beloved great grandmother of Hailey, Ella, Bennet and Summit Bridgewater, Addaley and Carter Snoberger, Grayce, and Max Reiners, and Emma Rush. She is now in heaven with Grampa Max who died in 2008.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UnityPoint Hospice, Des Moines, or the First Presbyterian Church, Greene, Iowa.
