William Thomas “Tom” Carlisle (1947-2016)

April 24, 1947 - April 28, 2016

JANESVILLE, IOWA - William Thomas “Tom” Carlisle, 69, of Janesville, died Thursday, April 28, 2016, at his home.

He was born April 24, 1947, in Campbell County, Kentucky, son of Charles William and Dorothy (Weisman) Carlisle. He married Jean A. Michaelsen on June 18, 1987.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Thomas More College and Master of Fine Arts from Ohio University. He was employed with the University of Northern Iowa for 17 years, retiring as Associate Professor.

He is survived by his wife; and by two daughters, Mackenzie Carlisle of Portland, Oregon, and Bailey Carlisle of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles Robert Carlisle.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
