Jeanne A. Lutgen went home to heaven on Wednesday, April 20, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.

Jeanne was born October 31, 1932 in Waterloo, the daughter of Harry and Lucille Dietsch Frost. She attended Immaculate Conception School in Gilbertville and remained active with her classmates. On April 22, 1952, she married Paul Lutgen in Gilbertville.

Jeanne retired from American Color Corp. of Waterloo. She was an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels, Sacred Heart Church, and many other charitable causes.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years; her parents; her father and mother-in-law, John and Susan Lutgen; a brother, Jackie and a great-granddaughter, Star Marie.

Her survivors include her son, Jack (Tina) Lutgen of Bettendorf; daughter, Peggy Wentworth of Waterloo; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bill and Rosie Frost of Redding, Calif., Don and Janice Frost of Waterloo and Nick and Rita Frost of LaPorte City; two sisters, Peggy and Ron Mangrich and Mikki and Terry Samuelson both of LaPorte City.

Jeanne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and volunteer.

Services will be 11:00 Saturday, April 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4-8 pm Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4 pm Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary and a 7 pm vigil service. There will be no visitation at the church on Saturday.

Memorials can be made to Cedar Valley Hospice or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
