Rosemarie de Ruiter, 85, of Waterloo, died Thursday, January 14 at her home.

She was born December 17, 1930, in Berlin, Germany, the daughter of Wolfgang and Gertrud Nietsch Kober. She married Jan de Ruiter November 22, 1958, in Waterloo.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Michael de Ruiter of Bellingham, Wash.; a daughter, Angela Shambaugh of Berlin, Vt.; four grandchildren and two sisters and a brother, all residing in Germany.

A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 23 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service West Ridgeway.
