Bernice Mae Bauler, 82 of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, April 15 at the Elizabeth Martin Center, Cedar Falls.

She was born Dec. 31, 1933 in Readlyn, daughter of John and Sophia Brandt Westendorf. She married Joseph L. Bauler on July 3, 1959 in Austin, Minn. He died Dec. 5, 1996.

She was a waitress at Friedl’s Prime Rib Room, prior to children, and then worked as a sales clerk for Sears for twenty years, retiring in 1996.

She is survived by a son, Joseph W. (Teresa) Bauler of Waterloo; a daughter, Charlotte A. (Dan) Jamieson of Aurora, Colo.; 7 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Maria Drewes of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: her husband; four brothers, Wilbur, Lester, Eldo and John Westendorf; and a sister, Dale Shroedermeier.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 19 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South St. with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Monday and continue for one hour before services, both at the funeral home on South Street.
