Biography--

Alice May DeLong, 98, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Rosewood Estates.

She was born January 7, 1918 in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Earl Tyner and Charlotte (Hesse) White. She was a graduate of Waterloo West High School. Alice married Arthur P. DeLong on March 29, 1941 in Charles City; he preceded her in death on August 20, 2002.

She was a homemaker. She had been a member of the Waterloo Women’s Club, Waterloo Garden Club, Grace United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Paul (Judy) DeLong of Eden, Utah, James (Charmaine) DeLong of Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren: Donald DeLong of Alpharetta, Georgia, Richard (Kristen) DeLong of North Ogden, Utah, Audrey DeLong of Redding, California, Monette (Tally) Friedlander of Columbus, Ohio; six great-grandchildren: Donovan and Logan DeLong of Alpharetta, Georgia, Axel and Marah Friedlander of Columbus, Ohio, Kaitlyn and Sophie DeLong of North Ogden, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Martha Adler; and two brothers, Richard A. and Richard D. White.
