Obituary for Dr. Robert N. Bremner

Dr. Robert (Bob) Bremner, 87, was promoted to Heaven on March 25, 2016, in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Dr. Bob was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 13, 1928. He married Myrna Russell on June 9, 1951.

He graduated from the University of Iowa Medical School in 1954 and began his practice as a family physician in Steamboat Rock. In 1957 he moved his family to Cedar Falls, where he joined Dr. Martin Erickson as a founding partner of Cedar Falls Medical Associates. He practiced there until his retirement in 1995.

He was a founding member of Trinity Wesleyan Church, today known as Trinity Bible Church, since its beginning in 1968. He also loved making disciples and helped launch the Navigators collegiate ministry on the UNI campus in 1961.

Dr. Bob faithfully loved his wife of almost 65 years, loved his children and loved to practice medicine, but his greatest passion was knowing Christ and making Him known. To that end, God granted him much fruit.

Survived by: his wife, Myrna Bremner; his daughter, Cindy Bremner Howard of Brno, Czech Republic; his three sons, Ron (Diane) Bremner of Cedar Falls, Dr. Randy (Denise) Bremner of Decorah, Dr. Rick (Tracie) Bremner of Cedar Falls; his twelve grandchildren, Major Ryan (Julie) Howard, Sean (Leah) Howard, Tina (Seth) Unruh, Steph (Danny) Whipple, Ben Bremner, Rob Bremner, Dustin (Lauren) Bremner, Brian Bremner, Katie Bremner, Dawson Bremner, Ellie Bremner Graham Bremner; as well as his eight great grandchildren; a brother, Retired Rear Admiral Bruce (Treva) Bremner of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and a sister Dora Elizabeth (Bremner) Isaac of New Virginia.

He was preceded in Death by a sister, Patty Jeanne Bremner in 1931; and by two brothers, Dr. George W. “Bill” Bremner in 2007, and John Barron Bremner in 2012.

Memorial Service: Saturday, April 2nd, at Trinity Bible Church. Visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on April 1st, at Richardson Funeral Service, as well as one hour before the service on April 2nd at the church. There will be a private burial at Fairview Cemetery.
