Cedar Falls, Iowa - Norman "Lee" Wested, age 93, of Cedar Falls died Friday, March 25, 2016, at his home.

Lee was born November 9, 1922, to Marinus and Maren (Christensen) Wested in Elk Horn, Iowa. He attended Elk Horn schools. He served in the US Army in World War II, serving in the Philippines. On October 2, 1948 he married Dorothy Skene in La Porte City.

Lee worked in the power plant at Cedar Falls Utilities, and also as a mechanic at Blue Line Moving and Storage. He was a member of the American Legion, the AmVets and First United Methodist Church.

He was survived by his wife Dorothy; his two daughters, Susan (Bill) McGarvey of Cedar Falls, and Beth Ann (Dennis) Miller of Janesville; grandkids: Cory (Jill) McGarvey of Cedar Rapids, Troy (Rochelle) McGarvey of Cedar Falls, Ben (Amber) McGarvey of Boise, ID, Shauna (Matt) Heath of Cedar Falls, Jocelyn (Brady) Mears of Janesville; and by his great-grandkids: Collin, Kaleigh, Elizabeth, Abby, Connor, Keegan, Colby, Walker, and Lennon.

Preceded in death by his brother Clarence Wested.
Funeral service will be Friday, April 1 at First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls.

Visitation will be from 4-7pm Thursday, March 31 at Richardson Funeral Service.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Cedar Falls.
