Biography--

Blanche C. Hansen, age 104, died Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Ravenwood Specialty Care in Waterloo.

She was born January 12, 1912 in Fredericksburg, Iowa, the daughter of Watson and Minnie Schnurstein Lewis. Blanche graduated from Fredericksburg High School and was united in marriage with Lafayette P. Hansen on August 2, 1936 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on January 14, 1982.

Survivors include a son, Marvin (Jane) Hansen of Waterloo and a daughter, Carol M. Brown of Waterloo; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son-in-law, David Brown; a granddaughter, Debra Sells; seven brothers, Clarence, Wilmer, Lewis, Lloyd, Donald, Dave and Elmer in infancy and four sisters: Nora Hunt, Ellen Churchill, Esther Buhr and Lorraine Crees.
