Biography--

Janet M. Hickman, 83, of Waterloo, died Saturday March 19, 2016 at Covenant Medical Center. She was born January 6, 1933 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota, the daughter of Joseph and Luella (Lembrick) Gorman. She married Jack Hickman on October 12, 1948 in Toledo, Iowa; he preceded her in death on November 20, 1983.

She was a homemaker and later worked as a CNA at Friendship Village for 15 years.

Survived by two sons, Jack Hickman, Jr. of Waterloo, Jamie (Lora) Hickman of Cedar Falls; four daughters, Jan (Donald) Davis of Carlisle, PA, Joanne Metheny of Des Moines, Jill (Dick) Webb of Denver, CO, Joyce Hickman of Clear Lake; twenty-eight grandchildren; forty-eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, a very special brother, Jerry (Pam) Hamlyn of Waterloo and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Betty Ann Brandhorst and one brother, Rollie Gorman.
