Biography--

Donna M. Koweil, 82 of Waterloo, died on March 12, 2016 at Rosewood Estates of natural causes.

She was born July 26, 1933 in Waterloo, daughter of Walter James and Madeline Moore Gaston. She graduated from North Phoenix High School in 1951 and attended Arizona State University for 2 years. Donna married John Koweil on February 14, 1959 in Waterloo. He died August 25, 2004.

She worked at the Waterloo Water Works until she and her husband moved to AZ in 1977. She then was executive secretary for the Chief Title Officer at Transamerica Title in Phoenix until going to work as administrative secretary for 2-star general in the State of Arizona Water Resources Dept. She retired in 1990.

She is a member of First Congregational Church. She sang in the choir at First Congregational and at Encanto United Church of Christ Church in Phoenix. Donna was a member of the American Bible Society for over 40 years. She has received recognition from the ASPCA, Humane Society of US, and the DELTA Organization. Donna enjoyed the care and feeding of wild animals and fowl, and loved her cats.

Donna is survived by her nieces and nephews: Lisa (Dipen) Bhattacharya, Moreno Valley, CA, Christine Sutton and Steve Conyers, of CA. Dana (Judy) Anderson and Linda Benson of Waterloo, and Jon Anderson, Phoenix, AZ.Great-nieces and nephews: Diana (Craig) Wagner, Jay (Joanne) Koweil, and Suzanne (Henry) Shepherd of Waterloo. Good friends: Beverly Rathbone and Marva Taylor of Waterloo.

Donna is preceded in death by: Parents, husband.
