Biography--

Lyman M. Lamphier, 74, of Waterloo died Friday, March 11, 2016 at his home.

He was born December 27, 1941, in Iowa City, Iowa, son of Theodore and Marie Haught Lamphier. He married Joan Watson in Waterloo and they were later divorced.

Lyman graduated from Elkader Central High School in 1960. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by three daughters, Tracy Schultz of Waterloo, Tiffany (Todd) Engels of Dallas, Texas, and Brandy Brandes of San Diego, California; six grandchildren, Taylor (Brandon) Buzzell, Jeffrey Schultz, Amanda (Trevor) Ball, Alyssa Engels, Alexis Houdek and Dylan Scoles, and four great-grandchildren.

Lyman was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Janice Freeman; three brothers Larry, Jerry and Paul Lamphier, and one brother, Wayne Lamphier, in infancy.
