Judith Ann Hurd was born June 28, 1944 in Waterloo, Iowa: the daughter of Clinton and Dolores (Domayer) Elliott. She graduated from East High School. On September 23, 1967, Judy was united in marriage to James “Jim” Hurd in North Augusta, South Carolina. Besides being a full time mom, she worked at Latta’s Office Supply, in the photo lab at Hawkeye Photo and as a manager in a consignment store. Judy was an avid bowler and Iowa Hawkeye fan. She liked music, flowers, especially Begonias and feeding birds. She loved her family dearly, and they remember her as always being happy and a fun Grandma. Everybody loved Judy, she had many, many friends who will miss her dearly.

Judy passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home at the age of 71.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Judy is survived by her husband Jim of Waterloo; a daughter Joelle (Scott) Strader of Evansdale; two granddaughters, Staci and Mara Strader; a brother James “Jim” (Pam) Elliott of Cedar Falls; cousins and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
