Barbara Vojtech

October 23, 1936 - March 5, 2016

Barbara Ann Vojtech was born on October 23, 1936, in Waterloo, the daughter of Robert and Hazelle (Zimmer) Waller. She graduated from Dysart High School with the class of 1955 and was a member of the National Honor Society. Barbara then took many accounting and business classes at Hawkeye Community College and Hamilton College.

She met her future husband, Donald Vojtech, while he was still serving in the Army. They were married on May 5, 1956, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dysart. The couple made their home in Traer for several years before moving to the family farm where they lived for many years and then moved back to Traer. Barbara worked as a bookkeeper for Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer for ten years and then worked as the human resource manager for Traer Manufacturing for seventeen years.

She enjoyed spending time at the lake house at Holiday Lake, boating and fishing. Barbara died at the age of 79 on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers in law, Gary Schirm and Marvin Vojtech; and a niece, Jane. Barbara is survived by two sons, Dan Vojtech of Reinbeck and Steve (Ronda) Vojtech of Grinnell; two sisters, Nancy (Dick) Baker of Dysart and Janette Schirm of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Thomas (Therese) Waller of Traer; and two grandchildren, Olivia and Blake.
