Obituary for Maurice L. Parker

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Maurice L. Parker, age 77, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at his home.

He was born March 17, 1938, the son of Henry and Rita (Veasman) Parker in Meta, Missouri. On June 22, 1956 he married Judith A. Webb in Dixon, MO. He attended Jefferson City Junior College, and graduated from Lincoln University with a bachelor’s degree. He earned a Master’s degree from Rollings College in Winter Park, Florida. Maurice taught in Dixon, MO for 7 years, Melbourne, FL for a few years, and then was Principal in the Waterloo Community School District for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Judith; three sons, Larry of Waverly, IA, Joe of Waterloo, IA, and Stanley of Palm Bay, FL; a brother, Charles (Grace) Parker of Kansas; and a sister-in-law, Reba Parker of Springfield, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Alan; and a brother, John David Parker.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, MARCH 12th, at the Richardson Funeral Service, where a sharing of memories will begin at 3 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army, Cedar Valley Hospice, or the donor’s choice.
