Biography--
Iva Dell Bader, age 89, of La Porte City, died Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at La Porte City Specialty Care.
She was born October 29, 1926 in Waterloo, the daughter of Herman and Myrtle McClure Noltensmeier. Iva Dell graduated from Waterloo West High School. She was united in marriage with Paul John Bader on November 3, 1946 at First Methodist Church in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2014.
After high school graduation, Iva Dell worked in the personnel department in Rath Packing Co., where she met her future husband Paul. Following their marriage, the couple farmed near Dysart and Eagle Center for many years. After she raised her family, Iva Dell began a second career in the human resources department at Waterloo Industries. She and Paul loved to dance, enjoyed traveling and spent many happy years “snow-birding” with friends in Pharr, Texas. Iva Dell was talented at playing cards including 500 and bridge and she was fond of gardening and flowers.
Survivors include four sons, Boyd (deceased wife Pamela Curphy Bader) of Des Moines, his daughter, Kindra Lee (Ryan) Gipple of Chandler, AZ and her children, Camden Gipple, Maycn Gipple and deceased children, Brandon and Zachary Gipple, and his son, Cayd Paul (Cindy) Bader of Bloomfield, CO. and his children, Ashton and Nolan Bader, his daughter Ryann Kay Henry of Peoria, AZ and her son Jonah Henry, and his daughter, Teahl Ann Bader of West Des Moines, Iowa, and her daughter Eve Bader; son Clark (Patty) Bader of Sussex, WI and their children, Michelle Patrice Bader of Minneapolis and Emily Suzanne Bader of Sussex; son Dodd (Mary) Bader of Denver, CO; daughter Kyle (Jim) Jensson of La Porte City and their children, David Jensson of Waterloo and Melana Rae Jensson of Pleasant Hill, IA; and son Blaine (Sherri) Bader of Eldora and their children, Luke Parker Bader and Caitlin Kimberlee Bader of Eldora; two brothers-in-law, Dick Schuman of Decorah and Don (Minnie) Bader of Reno, NV.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Lois Hannan and Vivian Craft and a brother, Maurice Noltensmeier.
