Mary Jo Fiscus (1939-2016)

CEDAR FALLS - Mary Jo Fiscus, 76, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

She was born Oct. 27, 1939, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Edward and Mary Bonn Kofron. She married Roger T. Fiscus on Sept. 5, 1964, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Falls. He died Oct. 3, 2011.

Mrs. Fiscus graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1957 and attended Iowa State Teachers College (UNI). She worked for Prudential, and then was a daycare provider for many years.

Survived by: five daughters: Martha Wegenke of Oconomowoc, Wis., Sarah (Chris) Miller of Norwalk, Laura Fiscus of Waukee, Katie (Michael) Claeys of Ankeny and Amy Fiscus of Washington, D.C.; seven grandchildren: Elizabeth Condit, Alex and Sam Miller, Andrew Wegenke, Brady, Charlie and Jack Claeys; and two brothers, Charlie Kofron of Arizona and Clem (Betty) Kofron of Lime Springs.

Preceded in death by: a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Fiscus; a son-in-law, Rob Wegenke; and three brothers, Robert, Tom and Phil Kofron.

Services: Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Visitation on Sunday at Richardson Funeral Service, where there will be a rosary, followed by a vigil service.

Inurnment will occur at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls.

Memorials: may be directed to the church.
