Place of Death: Waterloo, IowaRoberta M. “Berta” Hoffman, 87, died Monday, January 4, 2016 at Rosewood Estates.
She was born October 14, 1928 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Cyril and Veryl Jaeger Teeple. She married Charles Lorenzen on May 18, 1948. He died November of 1966. She then married Francis Hoffman on December 2, 1967 in Dubuque.
Berta ran the Balloon Boutique in Waterloo for several years.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Craig (Tracy) of Overland Park, Kansas; five daughters, Linda (Bruce) Gienau, Cindy Fordyce and Trina (Brian) Pittman all of Waterloo; Deb Lorenzen of Worthington, Minnesota, and Peggy (Scott) Frost of Gilbertville; nineteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce (Fred) Smith of Dubuque.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Gayman.
Private family services will take place. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street is assisting the family.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus or Alzheimer’s Association.
