Annie Kaffoglou, USAFR, 81, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, formerly of Waterloo, died Sunday, December 20, 2015, in Colorado Springs.

She was born December 11, 1934 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of George and Lena Kontos Kaffoglou.

Annie graduated from East High School in 1952 and worked in her mother’s grocery store, Linn Street Grocery and also Rath Packing Company. She enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1956 where she served in both the active and reserve forces for 20 years, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant.

She is survived by a niece, Lynne Griffith; two nephews, Michael and Tom Perris; a cousin Julie Schwab; and a sister-in-law, Katherine Kaffoglou.

Preceded in death by: her parents; two sisters, Esther Perris and Maria Frye; and a brother, Stanley Kaffoglou.

Services will be Thursday, January 7 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Public visitation will be for one hour before services at the church.

Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street assisted the family.

Memorials: directed to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church or Cedar Bend Humane Society.
