Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville, Iowa.

Visitation:
Public visitation will be held an hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the Church.

Biography--

Robert A. “Bob” Jenkins, age 59, died Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.

He was born January 7, 1956, in Waterloo, the son of Charles and Margaret Michels Jenkins. Bob graduated from Columbus High School in Waterloo with the Class of 1974 and earned an Associate’s Degree from Hawkeye Community College in Tool and Die. He was united in marriage with Vicki Ackerman on July 2, 1975 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Bob was a beekeeper and sold his honey under the BJ Honey label. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville, Knights of Columbus Council 700 in Waterloo and the Isaac Walton League in Washburn.

Survivors include his wife, Vicki of La Porte City; a daughter, Julie (Amos) Kraus of Waverly, Iowa; two sons, Bob Jenkins Jr. of Evansdale and Steve Jenkins of La Porte City; five grandchildren, Alex Coghlan, Mary Jenkins, Samuel Coghlan, Charles Kraus and Emma Jenkins; four brothers, Marshal (Jill) Jenkins of Lamar, Missouri, Mark (Theresa) Jenkins of Floyd, Iowa, Mike (Becky) Jenkins of Dallas, Texas, and Joe (Penny) Jenkins of La Porte City; and a sister, Mary Graves of La Porte City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles and Jim Jenkins; and a sister, Patty Kochuyt.

La Porte City Funeral Home is assisting Bob's family.
