Thomas A. Hild, 95, of Waterloo, died Monday, December 14, at the Friendship Village Pavilion.
He was born April 13, 1920 in Buckingham, son of Thomas and Ethel Ross Hild. He married Helen Meaney on October 29, 1960, in Waterloo. She died June 30, 2014.
Tom was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Coast Guard and of the Korean War, serving in the Navy. He was employed with John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 41 years, retiring as a Supervisor in 1982.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by four brothers: Dale and Stanley, and two in infancy; and three sisters: Gladys, Evelyn and Vera.
Services will be Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 138, Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 1623 and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
Memorials may be directed to the church or Friendship Village Foundation.
