Biography--

Irene Ruth Alderman, 96, of Waterloo, died Saturday, November 21, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born May 23, 1919, in Geneva, the daughter of Louis and Pearl Robinson Anway. She married Darius Alderman on January 17, 1948, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and he died October 25, 1998.

Irene graduated from Geneva High School in 1938 and was employed at Montgomery Ward, retiring in 1986.

Survivors include: three sons, Russell (Jean) of Waterloo, Larry (Sandy) of Lone Grove, Olka, and Kevin (Gwen) of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Paula (Bill) Kimpston of Waterloo; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Livengood of Hampton.

She was preceded in death by a son, Brett Alderman; a daughter, Pamela Alderman in infancy; a grandchild, Jordan Alderman; three great-grandchildren: Brandon Kindschi, Marrisa Williams, and J.J. Williams; four brothers; five sisters; and a daughter-in-law, Janice Alderman.

Services: Tuesday, November 24, at Cedar Valley Community Church with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and also one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
