Funeral services for Mrs. Rolland Brunko, 58, a former Vinton resident, were held Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home in Waterloo. Burial was in Midwest Garden of Memories Cemetery [Waterloo]. Mrs. Brunko died of cancer Saturday morning, June 29, 1974, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital.

The former Merna Hiler was born Nov. 12, 1915 in Vinton, the daughter of David and Anna Hiler. She married Rolland Brunko on Nov. 5, 1935 in Independence.

Surviving are her husband; one son, David, of Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter, Mrs. Richard Mingus of Waterloo; one brother, Darrel Hiler of Vinton.

She was preceded in death by her parents earlier this year and one brother.
