Evan M. Christensen, age 15, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at his home.
He was born March 17, 1999 in Waterloo, the son of Wendy Ann Mast Christensen and Shane Maurice Christensen. Evan was a sophomore at Waterloo East High School where he was a member of the JROTC (Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps). He enjoyed playing sports, especially baseball and basketball. Evan was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Waterloo.
Survivors include his mother, Wendy Christensen of Evansdale; a sister, Makaila Christensen of Evansdale; his maternal grandparents, Larry and Laura Mast of Evansdale; his maternal great grandparents, Rev. C.G. and Margaret Lagow of Waterloo; Aunts and Uncles, Alan (Fiancé Keri Parker) Mast of Washington, IA, Chad Mast of Cedar Falls, Heather (Michael) Dean of Evansdale, Brandon (Fiancé Jessica Kappel) Mast of Evansdale and cousins, Melissa, McKensey, Sean, Kylie and Brooklyn.
He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Dave and Polly Mast; a great-uncle, Gary Mast and a maternal great-great-grandmother, Nancy Lagow.
