Biography--

Thomas Robert “Tom” Mummelthie, 59, of Waterloo, died Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of cancer.

He was born December 31, 1955 in Waverly, Iowa, the son of Robert L. and Dorothy (Griffin) Mummelthie. He married Cheryl Dinnebier on August 5, 1978 in Waterloo.

Tom worked as a line assembler for John Deere for 36 years, retiring in April of 2014. He was a member of the UAW.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl of Waterloo; a son, Chad of Waterloo; a daughter, Leslie (Austin) Popham of Strawberry Point; three grandchildren, Dylan, Hudson and Tyler Popham; a brother, John (Cathy) Mummelthie; a sister, Leanne Hill of Waterloo; a brother-in-law, Dan Beck of Hills and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: his parents and one sister, Jane Beck.

Tom enjoyed golfing, fishing, shooting pool, the Boston Red Sox and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends.
